What exactly is “event production?”
Event production is the total process and coordination of all elements necessary to make your event happen. Successful event production requires specialized skills including disciplined planning and organization, technical expertise with equipment, audio, and lighting as well as performance and staging knowledge. Event production begins with “advance,” and continues with load-in, set up, execution, break down, load-out, and resolution. Helping you make your event successful is what BandProd does best.
What does “advance” mean?
“Advance” is advance production, or everything we do before the day or evening of your event. We begin by making a direct connection with the venue and establishing a contact. When necessary we’ll visit the venue and check access. Is there a loading dock? Are there stairs? Are there elevators? Will the equipment fit?
We take measurements of the space and make determinations for the best staging options. We look at the power. We check to make sure there’s a sufficient amount of electricity available and whether or not we have the proper connectors to interface our electrical distribution. We check parking. Where will we be able to park production vehicles before, after, and during the show?
Advance also includes vendor selection and negotiations, which means getting you the right vendor with the right equipment at the right price.
For example, you don’t want a rock and roll lighting company to do your fashion show. You don’t want a wedding photographer to shoot your rock and roll show. Often, the biggest line item in a show is the cost of labor. By advancing properly and knowing what to expect, BandProd can minimize or eliminate excess labor costs.
You say the final step is “resolution.” What do you mean by that?
The event doesn’t end at the end of the show. BandProd provides detailed follow-through with every final step. We ensure safe removal of all equipment by supervising and coordinating the load-out logistics. Rental equipment is returned in a timely fashion. All invoices are promptly processed and paid.
